Before starting Access, Alan worked for the Wilsenach Group (no longer in existence). He was part of the team that created Astro's, a Cadbury's consumer candy product:

The original Astro's was designed and printed as a 3D stereoscope, all the promotional material for the new product launch was designed around stereograms and space. Alan's role included design, finished artwork and 3D stereoscopic and stereogram illustration.

The product broke into a very competitive sector of the market at a high percentage and has been able to maintain the position through strong visual communication and great design.

Alan also designed and illustrated the Stereogram for the collectable series Astro's campaign:

After more than 15 years Astro's is still a leader in the "lots of" sector for candies in South Africa.
